The last group of performances

28 04 2007

i went first and the only thing i have to say about my performance is that im really disappointed in myself.

Chloe went second and she performed a Nerd! her performance was very well done. i liked her use of sound and her character transitions were very good. I think the only thing she needs to work on is projecting her voice! but apart from that her performance was great!!

by the way I CANT WAIT FOR ENSAMBLES hehe

love you long time…

Second group of solo performances

28 04 2007

Today’s lesson was a shortened lesson and we onli got 4 performances done.

Tara ’s performance was on a Vegan! it was really well done, i thought. She showed all aspects of a vegans life very well and her character and scene transitions were really well done as well. I liked her performance a lot.

Flick’s performance was on a Hippy! i like her choice of music and her story line was really interesting. Her guitar playing was good but it would have been better if she just played and sung with out the cd. I also liked the sun flowers.

Adriana’s performance we for ages!!! lol but it wasa really good storyline non the less. No offence Adri but u play a band geek really well lol. I think you bought the aspects of a band geek out realli well. Good job!

Laura’s performance was a street bum! i like how she used some of the storyline from Oliver in her performance. My idea of a street bum was exactly what Laura performed so i think the performance was very good.

Good job everyone, this was another great session of performances!!

The first group of solo performances

28 04 2007

Today we saw some of the solo performances and they were really good! I dont really rememebr the order but meh…

Jess Perkins played a Wog and i thought her performance was very good and she really caught and emotions of her character! the accent was great! but she can do any accent well… I loved the typical sayings said by her character and the story line was also very interesting. Jess your climax was great :)

Jess M played the stereotypical Aussie. This performance was very funny and she really bought out all aspects of her character. Her story line was funny and i also liked how she showed the end at the start and then went back and told us about how she ended up like that. oh and great use to the placard… go Brecht!

Jess Box’s performance was funny and very well thought out. She played a Tini-bopper. The story telling was great in this performance and i loved all the songs sung through-out her performance! Great job jess.

Heather’s character was a metal head! Her performance was insightful and i love how she related everything about her character to her character’s dad. Her character transitions were really good and her use of costum was really good as well. It also had some comedy in there which was great. I thought her performance was great and i know how much she was stressing that i wouldnt make sense but it made sense to me lol.

Nadia’s performance was great! She played a Greaser. i loved how she related her characters and story line back to the book we read in yr 9! i understood everything that was happening. Also her use of symbol at the end was just awsome. Well done Nads!

Maddi’s performance was realli good. She played a Nerd. i loved the story line and she really used it to her advantage! Her use of props was realli good too and the glasses worked well in personality changes.

Leah! wow! She played a cheerleader! this was my favourite performance! i loved her humour and she used her knowledge of the topic to her advantage. Her character transitions were really well done and the use of the glasses was great as the teacher. The changes in her voice were very well done as well! Great performance Leah!

All the performances today were really well done! i keep thinking that ive forgotten someone… if i have ill comment in my next post.

Love you long time…

Top Acts!!!

28 04 2007

On friday 20th our yr 11 drama class, along with the yr 12s and some yr 10’s , went to see top acts! It was great to see all the top performances in the state but it was also kinda nerve racking… anyways the first group we saw was great and reminded us of all the characters. My favourite in the first group was probabaly the Pirate who was played by Tori Wood. She was so funny in this roll! The use of the piano was so creative and, in my opinion, a much better and controllable idea than having sound effects over the speakers.

The Second group was a lot more comical and had a lot of very interesting characters. We were introduced to  the character of Violet Baudelaire. But my favourite character out of this group and probably the whole day was the very last performance, the Gossip played by Anton de Ionno. He really caught the audiences attention with his hilarious and witty script and also the accents and voices he put on. The whole day was very enjoyable and so worth it!

On Saturday… after finally finding our way there (lol jess) we were all very excited to see Genelle perform! She was soooooooo good, she is such a roll model! I felt so proud to know her and really happy that she got so many laughs and claps. I think this group was the best, my favoutrite performances were Genelle Lentini playing The Gossip, and the two Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde performances done by Christopher Chung and David Ludlow. I felt really sorry for Perri Palmieri who played Violet Baudelaire who was applauded before she had finished her performance. And i also felt sorri for Ellen Robinson who played the Accused, but for a whole lot of different reasons… Anyways all the performances were very well performed on the two days and it was a privledge to go and watch them.

Love you long time…

Tomorrow…

23 04 2007

Ok i no i’ve been really slack on doing my blogs and i do feel very ashamed for not doing more of them… Ok i’ve just done my last practise and i feel alright now… well better that i did a few days ago. I still feel that im not acting objects out enough so that everyone will understand what they are but i’ve acted infront of the mirror and i can understand it… but maybe thats because i already no what they’re suppose to be…?? oh well too late now! :P Well the show must go on…

Love u long time

Hello out there!!!

14 04 2007

Hello everyone!!!

I’m back from Echuca and so glad (sorri mum and dad). Well, talk about one drama orientated holiday! I think i woke up every day and went to bed every night thinking about my solo lol. Well i’ve just typed up my script, so i dont forget what im doing. I’ve discovered that my solo is not really about the script, its more about the acting and facial expressions so i cant just stand there and say my lines… JUST KIDDING… but one thing i have found hard is pretending that im holding an infant, i have a really bad feeling that in some part of the performance ill drop my imaginary baby, if that makes sense… well im starving so im going to go eat something… but all together my solo is coming along well, now i’ve just got to work on memorising the script and my cues :)

Love you long time…

bye bye
